Hi,

I'm a doctoral student at the University of
Mississippi. My major is TESOL. I'm interested in
humorous narratives of ESL students. Could anyone
suggest some bibliography to start with? Maybe
something on multicultural humor?

Thanks a lot,
Julia Stakhnevich

Subject: Typology and Function of Participles

Can anyone give me sources of information on the typology and
functions of participles, especially present participles, and
especially with respect to their sometimes ambiguous status as
nouns/verbs?

(I'm working on historical changes in the function and distribution
of the participial verb mood in West Greenlandic; this verb mood, in
its intransitive form, is morphologically identical to the present
participle, whence the second half of the question above.)

Thanks so much for any help you can give me,

Anna Berge (aberge at hum.ku.dk)
