website, you may respond to the call for papers, register for the
conference and workshop(s), and reserve accommodations by fax,
telephone, snail-mail, or e-mail.
Persons with disabilities should notify the NWAV organizers at
nwav at pilot.msu.edu when they register of any special needs. Requests
received after that time will be met when possible.
CALL FOR PAPERS:
Abstracts are invited in all areas of linguistic variation for 20-
minute presentations (plus a ten-minute discussion period) and for
posters (paper or PowerPoint).
Abstract specifications: Abstracts should include the full title of
the submission and the author's name(s), with mailing address,
institutional affiliation, e-mail, fax and phone numbers. The entire
abstract must be no longer than 500 words, including identification and
references. Indicate at the end whether your submission is to be
considered for a presentation, a paper poster, or a PowerPoint poster.
(You may indicate more than one.)
NB: There will be an overhead projector and screen in each room. If you
have other AV needs, please indicate what they are at the bottom of
your abstract.

The Kellogg Center provides transportation gratis to the conference
center from the Lansing Airport.
Student Accommodations:
A small number of first-come first-served double rooms (sorry, no
singles), dormitory style, will be available directly across the street
from the conference center. The cost is $20.00 per person per night
(plus 6% Michigan sales tax). You must reserve these rooms with the
conference organizers directly at nwav at pilot.msu.edu or on a form at
the conference website (http://nwav.lin.msu.edu).
Travel:
The Lansing Airport is served, non-stop, from Chicago, Cincinnati,
Cleveland, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, and, most frequently,
Detroit. There is no regular ground transportation from the Detroit
Airport to East Lansing. If you do not fly to Lansing from Detroit,
your only real option is to rent a car (for a one hour to one and one-
half hour drive). There will be no parking charge for conference
participants at either the Kellogg Center or the student dormitory.
