Subject:  Tromso course/workshop: Linguistic analyses of literature

The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Tromso, Norway, will
be hosting a weeklong course entitled Linguistic analyses of
literature, from August 28th - September 2nd, 2000. Two classes will
be taught from Monday through Thursday, one on metrics, taught by
Professor Morris Halle (MIT), and one on narrative structure, taught
by Professor Nigel Fabb (Strathclyde). Friday and Saturday are set
aside for a workshop with presentations by the course participants.
The course is officially designated for Norwegian doctoral students,
but there should be room for other interested participants. For more
