 ==========================================================================
The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to use
non-discriminatory standards in hiring policy. In particular we urge
that employers do not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity,
nationality, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we
have no means of enforcing these standards.

Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international
employment page http://linguistlist.org/jobnet.html.

This page has been set up so that people can report on the employment
standards of various countries.

The NLP Group in Microsoft Research is looking for one computational
grammarian for German, and one for French. The positions will be
located on the Microsoft central campus in Redmond, Washington, USA.

The NLP Research group began in 1991, and has grown to include 7
languages, all of which have well-developed broad coverage analysis
components.

The grammarian's primary responsibilities will be to collaborate with a
group of researchers (within the context of a French or German team) on
the development of linguistic modules inside the systems. These
currently include an analysis grammar, a logical form component and an
experimental generation module.

The grammarian's qualifications should include experience in linguistic
research, software development and natural language processing; a
flexible approach to linguistic theory; and an advanced degree in
linguistics, or a closely related discipline. Native proficiency in the
language of choice is assumed. Familiarity with generation is a plus.

the World Wide Web.
