The Department of Linguistics at the State University of New York at
Stony Brook invites applications for a tenure track Assistant
Professor/beginning Associate Professor of Linguistics.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, or TESOL;
NY State TESOL Certification or reciprocal equivalent; prior
supervisory experience in a teacher certification program.

Primary responsibilities involve advising, directing and supervising
undergraduate and graduate students in the NY State TESOL
Certification program. This includes arranging student teacher
placement in local schools, overseeing and supervising student
teaching, monitoring the content of existing courses so that
certification candidates can meet State requirements, teaching TESOL
Methods. In addition, service on departmental and university
committees is expected.

The candidate must have a record of research in Applied Linguistics,
including refereed publications in quality journals and edited
volumes.  National and international visibility and demonstrated
success in securing outside grants are highly desirable.
