Position as French Language Coordinator

Appointment beginning August 2001 for a junior or senior tenure-track
specialist in second language acquisition or applied linguistics to serve as
coordinator of French language instruction.  Duties include: coordinating
first and second-year language courses, training graduate assistants,
teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and directing
dissertations.

The ideal profile for a senior applicant is a solid publication
record, outstanding pedagogical qualifications, and experience in the
coordination of basic language instruction and teacher training, as
well as material development.  Familiarity with current technological
supports, e.g., interactive computer-assisted instruction, Internet,
is highly desirable.  For a junior applicant, we are looking for
completion or near completion of a PhD dissertation in applied
linguistics, language acquisition, or methodology, as well as some
supervisory experience.  The language coordinator is assisted by three
full-time instructors holding the PhD degree or ABD status.
