The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to use
non-discriminatory standards in hiring policy. In particular we urge
that employers do not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity,
nationality, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we
have no means of enforcing these standards.

Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international
employment page http://linguistlist.org/jobnet.html.

This page has been set up so that people can report on the employment
standards of various countries.

I'm re-posting this from the CETEFL-L network, for any Linguist List member
looking for a teaching position in the Czech Republic. If you are
interested, contact David Catto, asap, to arrange a telephone interview. It
should be "a cinch" for an applied linguist to get one of these jobs.

Dear Teachers,

Currently I have three teaching positions available in the Czech Republic
for an immediate start with contracts to 30th June 2001.

- Breclav (two positions): near the Austrian border, about one hour from Vienna and in an area with several attractive castles.

- Chomutov: near the German border with two popular spa towns nearby.

Teachers should have a degree plus TEFL plus some experience.

The work involves teaching 19+ year old students in the morning and business
clients in the afternoon. There are 30 lessons per week of 45 minutes each.
Accommodation is provided free near to the place of work and the take home
salary is 9,000 Czech Crowns(Kc).

The Schools and I will give you the help you need to obtain a work visa.

Sincerely
David Catto (Director)
