POSITION IN FRENCH LINGUISTICS

The Department of French at the University of Western Ontario invites
applications for a probationary appointment (tenure track) at the rank
of Assistant Professor with expertise in at least two of the following
fields in linguistics: syntax, phonology, theory of acquisition,
morphology, applied linguistics, translation theory. The ideal applicant
will have a Ph.D., teaching experience and an excellent publication
record.

The successful candidate will be involved in the undergraduate, M.A.,
and Ph.D. programs of the Department, and in an interfaculty program
in linguistics, and be flexible enough to teach either large groups or
small seminars in French and in English. Candidates will have native
or native-like fluency in both French and English and a demonstrated
capacity for teamwork. Contract begins on July 1, 2001 and is subject
to budgetary approval.

POSTE EN LINGUISTIQUE FRANÇAISE

Le Département de français, The University of Western Ontario, est à la
recherche d'un-e professeur-e adjoint-e en linguistique ayant une
expertise dans au moins deux des domaines suivants: syntaxe, phonologie,
théorie de l'acquisition, morphologie, linguistique appliquée, théorie
de la traduction. Le dossier idéal inclura un doctorat, une expérience
d'enseignement et un excellent dossier de publications.

La personne nommée jouera un rôle important dans les programmes de
premier, deuxièy"e et troisième cycles, à l'intérieur du
Département de français etýans un programme interfacultaire de
linguistique. Cette personne fera preuve de suffisamment de souplesse
pour être en mesure d'enseigner à des grands groupes ainsi qu'à
des petits séminaires, et ce en français ou en anglais. Les
candidat-e-s auront une parfaite maîtrise du français et de
l'anglais ainsi qu'une aptitude à travailler en équipe. Date
d'entrée en fonctions: le 1er juillet 2001. Ce poste est sujet à
approbation budgétaire et peut mener à la permanence.
