Dialog Design and Grammar Developer for Speech Products

Summary: As a Speech Recognition Expert for Speech Applications in the
Mitercom Professional Services group, you are part of a dynamic team
that envisions, creates and deploys Mitercom's next-generation
interactive speech recognition/verification applications. This is a
tremendous opportunity to combine your knowledge and experience of
recognition and verification with your interest in Voice User Interface
design as you tune new state-of-the-art voice-based systems. As a key
team member, you are challenged with analyzing advanced applications to
optimize recognition and verification performance. You enjoy teamwork,
yet are capable of strong individual contribution and would enjoy the
challenge of project leadership to take a project from start to finish.
Your team works directly with Mitercom partners and customers, Mitercom
Sales, and various technical groups within Mitercom. Your job is
fast-paced and challenging as you push the envelope daily with Mitercom
customers.

Responsibilities:

- Grammar development and dialog design
- Use Mitercom tools to analyze and tune dialog and grammar performance,
create new tools when necessary
- Run experiments for optimizing speech recognition/verification
performance
- Perform applied research for advanced proof of concept systems
- Be involved with related tasks including application, dialog, grammar
design
- Work daily with internal and external Mitercom customers
- Refine customer requirements

Required:

- Good understanding of linguistics or computational linguistics
- Highly Self-directed, detailed, organized
- Excellent problem solving ability
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with computer programming

Ideal but Not Required:

- Experience in programming speech recognition applications
- Strong software coding skills especially in C++ or Java
- Familiarity with software industrial design cycle
- Exposure to dialog design, usability studies, data analysis
- Proven ability to lead a project or team
- Knowledge of speech recognition, speech coding, DSP, pattern
recognition


Education:

- Degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics or Computer Science
