The Department of Linguistics, McGill University, invites applications
for a tenure-track position in Syntax at the rank of Assistant
Professor, effective September 1, 2001.  Qualifications are a PhD in
Linguistics with primary specialization in syntax and a record of high
quality research and publication.  In keeping with the orientation of
the department, applicants should have a demonstrated research
specialization in theoretical syntax with a strong empirical basis.
Interest in non-Indo-European or lesser studies languages is an
advantage.  Responsibilities include teaching and supervision
primarily in syntax at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Knowledge of French is an asset.

Salry: McGill scale.
Deadline for applications: December 1, 2000.
