London)
_______________________________________________________________________

Canon Research Europe Ltd (CRE) has been working on speech technology
for more than 10 years, resulting in applications within Canon
products and 3rd party licensing deals. More recently, we have started
work in the area of multi-modal user interfaces, focusing on
integrating speech with other modalities, such as GUI, buttons, pen,
haptic etc. This work is motivated by concrete business requirements,
carried out in close collaboration with a Canon research group in
Japan and synchronised with an upcoming International Standard for a
multi-modal markup language. We are currently expanding activities in
this area and are inviting applications from experienced researchers
and exceptional recent graduates for the following position in the
Interaction group:

in multi-modal dialogue systems.

* A strong desire to apply research results for developing world-class
products.

ambitions. Consequently, we offer a very informal, stimulating and
flexible working environment (e.g. no core hours flexitime).
