Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo

The Department of English at Aoyama Gakuin University invites
applications for a full-time tenured position in Communication to
begin in April 2002.

We would particularly welcome applications from people with
specialization in one or more of the following areas: translation and
interpretation; business communication; and media studies.

Responsibilities include teaching classes in areas of specialization
as well as basic English language courses.  Rank is open. Ph.D.
preferred. Proficiency in Japanese required to participate in
faculty meetings.

Aoyama Gakuin University is a private institution with total
enrollment, undergraduate and graduate combined, of about 20,000. The
Department of English has a reputation for excellence in English
studies. There are currently 36 full-time faculty members in the
English Department, specializing in British and American Literature,
Linguistics, and Communication.

Applicants should submit:

1) a curriculum vitae,
2) a list of scholarly works,
3) up to 5 samples of recent publications, and
4) two letters of recommendation
