Rosa M. Baya and myself are in the process of putting together the section
on Catalan Linguisitics in the Comparative Romance Linguistics Newsletter
(see http://www.csdl.tamu.edu/~crln ). If you have published something
regarding Catalan linguistics in 2000, I would appreciate it you sent me
the bibliographical reference to lcomajoa at indiana.edu so that we can
include it in the bibliography. Thanks in advance.

LANGUAGE COURSES IN SUMMER 2001
at Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ
The Russian and East European Studies Consortium (REESC) at Arizona State
University offers intensive summer elementary and intermediate language
instruction in underrepresented critical languages. The Critical Languages
Institute (CLI) features highly qualified Arizona State University and East
European faculty. Tuition costs are waived and Tatar students are
competitively eligible for fellowship support. On-campus housing is available.
The Russian and East European Studies Consortium is pleased to announce the
languages for its Critical Languages Institute for the summer of 2001.
They are:
-Serbian-Croatian (Elementary and Intermediate, taught by Danko Sipka)
-Macedonian (Elementary and Intermediate, taught by Ljupco Spasovski)
-Tatar (Elementary and Intermediate, taught by Agnes Kefeli)
The courses are eight week intensive study programs conducted from June 4
through July 27. Arizona State University waives tuition, requiring
instead only a very modest registration fee. Each course will provide one
semester of language credit (four hours) at ASU and may be transferable.
Students may also opt to take the classes without credit. There is an
optional three week practicum for Serbian-Croatian in Petrovac, Montenegro,
and for Macedonian in Ohrid, Macedonia (estimated costs are US$1,400,
excluding airfare). Individuals studying Tatar are eligible for fellowship
support on a competitive basis. More information is available at the REESC
web site,
http://www.asu.edu/ipo/reesc/ .
