Exciting opportunities for Lead/Senior Computational Linguists working
on leading-edge speech solutions for commercial deployment on a global
scale.  Many challenging projects leading to the holy grail of speech
recognition.


ROLE:

Computational Linguistics - Enhance SLI using computational approaches
and applied algorithms - E.g. phrase chunking.  Develop Perl
prototypes for hand-off to Vox Designer team.  Develop algorithms for
immediate, timely applied tools and techniques that directly impact
and improve grammar development.

Special Projects - Pilot projects for core engines applications.
Launch and investigate new patent projects that impact company in cost
savings and value.  Deep quantitative background in Mathematics,
Physics or Statistical Language Modelling.


SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

- First class degree or degree with high honors in linguistics.
- Experience with the theory of syntax and exposure to syntactic
modelling and parsing.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Interest in Spoken Language Interfaces.
- Minimum of 1 year experience with Perl or Prolog.
- C/C++ a bonus.

Senior Computational Linguist - All of the above or M.S. required or
3+ years experience in development in industry of a linguistics
product.

Lead Applied/Computational Linguist - All of the above plus Ph.D. in
Applied Linguistics.  Demonstrated background in the psychology of
language learning or language user interfaces.  Excellent background
in Language related Human Interaction with Machines.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
