Subject: NLP - Research Student Bursaries at King's College, London

The Department of Computer Science at King's College has an active NLP
research group (consult our web site at http://www.dcs.kcl.ac.uk for
details) and invites students interested in pursuing a PhD in this area
to apply for the bursaries described below. The Department is offering
up to 4 Research Student bursaries in any suitable area of research within
its expertise.

The bursaries are associated with the Department's expanding support for
teaching and systems and the students taking up the bursaries will be
expected to support these areas of the Department's work.

The bursaries will be awarded for up to four years, with an associated
stipend of £11,000 per year. Fees will be paid from associated funds.
Students from any country of origin may apply. Students will be
registered as part-time research students and will be subject to the normal
regulations for part-time research students. Bursary holders will be
assigned duties in teaching support (designing and implementing
laboratory exercises, supervising laboratory sessions, acting as course tutors,
marking coursework and laboratory exercises, organising student support
services, etc) or systems support (systems programming, network support,
PC support, user support, etc) as appropriate. Performance will be
reviewed annually.

For information about the department and the College, refer to
http://www.dcs.kcl.ac.uk . Please send PhD registration applications
(forms available on the College's website) immediately to Ms Sandra Elborough,
Department of Computer Science, King's College London, Strand, London
WC2R 2LS. Please include the usual two academic references and two references
regarding your abilities in teaching support and/or systems support.
(The two sets of letters may have a non-empty intersection!) Also enclose a
statement of your abilities in relation to teaching support or systems
support. Please indicate how we may get in touch with you quickly, as
we may wish to interview candidates in the near future.
