Applications are invited for an Assistant Professorship (Kooshi or
Jokyooju in Japanese) in Phonology starting April 1, 2002.

Applicants should have a PhD (or near completion) in Linguistics.  The
post will involve teaching both general English courses and
Linguistics courses.  PhD is required to teach graduate courses.
Applicants should have strong qualifications in teaching and research.
Japanese language reading and speaking abilities are highly desirable
for full participation in administrative duties.

Applicants should submit an application letter, full curriculum vitae
inJapanese, sample research papers, and the names of two references
with contact information.  Hard copies only please.  The application
deadline is September 21, 2001.

Kobe College (Kobe Jogakuin Daigaku) is a highly competitive private
women's college founded in 1873 by American missionaries in the
