Applications are invited for an Associate or Full Professor (Jokyooju
or Kyooju in Japanese) in Theoretical Linguistics starting April 1 or
October 1, 2002.  Area of specialization is open. Applicants should
have a PhD (or its equivalent) in Linguistics.  The post will involve
teaching both general English courses and Linguistics courses.
Applicants should have strong qualifications in teaching and research.
Japanese language reading and speaking abilities are highly desirable
for full participation in administrative duties.

Applicants should submit an application letter, full curriculum vitae
in English and Japanese, sample research papers, and the names of two
references with contact information.  Hard copies only please.  The
application deadline is September 21, 2001.

Kobe College (Kobe Jogakuin Daigaku) is a highly competitive private
women's college founded in 1873 by American missionaries in the suburb
of Kobe-Osaka area. The college offers both undergraduate and graduate
