Senior Linguist-Translator

Oratio Corporation (Asia) Limited, incorporated in Hong Kong, is
looking for a senior linguist-translator to help compile/translate
linguistics databases in the English and Chinese languages.

You should have:

a taught/research masters or doctoral degree in translation,
linguistics or cultural studies; some familiarity with
psycholinguistics and cultural linguistics a plus;

experience in translating from various branches of English (British,
American, Australian, etc..) to Chinese for a variety of audiences in
the Mainland of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan;

You are required to work in Hong Kong. If you do not have the right of
abode in Hong Kong, you will need to be eligible for an employment
visa. (We will sponsor your application.)

Remuneration
Remuneration will be commensurate with performance, and ranges from
HKD 23,400 to HKD 42,900 per month, including pensions, overtime and
fringe benefits.

Employees from the United States, the United Kingdom, New Zealand
and Taiwan may choose to receive part of their remuneration in their
qlocal currencies. In local currency terms, the equivalent total
remuneratio package would be:

from NZD 6,800 to NZD 12,500 per month;
from GBP 2,200 to GBP 3,850 per month;
from USD 3,000 to USD 5,500 per month; and
from TWD 102,000 to TWD 187,000 per month.
