The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to use
non-discriminatory standards in hiring policy. In particular we urge
that employers do not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity,
nationality, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we
have no means of enforcing these standards.

Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international
employment page http://linguistlist.org/jobnet.html.

This page has been set up so that people can report on the employment
standards of various countries.

Greetings from Mexico!

The Universidad de la Sierra, A.C. (USAC) is pleased to announce 3-4
English and/or French teaching internship position openings for the
Fall 2001 (August-December) semester at our Huauchinango, Puebla
campus.

The USAC Teaching Internship Program:

Established in 1997, this continuous program is designed to give
graduate students enrolled in accredited TESOL programs and recent MA
TESOL graduates an opportunity to gain valuable international teaching
experience. Interns may arrange to earn graduate academic credit for
their work with USAC.

Interns are integral members of the department's faculty and have the
opportunity to teach a variety of language classes, as well as work on
curriculum, material and text development. The program has excellent
support services for interns that include a comprehensive orientation,
weekly round table discussions, teaching methodology workshops, and
class observation feedback sessions. On occasion, the program has
openings for interns who have bachelor's degrees coupled with a strong
interest in Mexican culture and language teaching.
