The department of Linguistics at the University of Michigan invites
applications for a two-year position as Visiting Research Assistant
Professor beginning in September 2001.  The position includes ½ time
teaching responsibilities (2 courses per year) and ½ time research as
the Language Learning Visiting Research Assistant Professor.

We seek outstanding applicants who have a Ph.D. in linguistics with a
specialization in any of a variety of areas including semantics, the
syntax-semantics interface, or computational linguistics.  A Ph.D. by
the start of the appointment is required.

A letter of application, including teaching experience and research
area, CV, one representative publication, and three letters of
recommendation should be sent to Chair, Department of Linguistics, The
University of Michigan, 1076 Frieze Building, Ann Arbor, MI
