TENURE TRACK POSITION IN LANGUAGE EDUCATION

The program of Language Education at the School of Education, Tel Aviv
University, is seeking candidates for a tenure track faculty position
for the 2001-2002 academic year.  The main areas of specialization are
second language acquisition, learning and teaching, language issues of
immigrants and minority groups in schools, discourse/conversational
analysis and/or related areas.  The position is at the rank of
lecturer or higher, according to candidates' qualification (lecturer
is equivalent to Assistant Professor in US universities).

Duties: teaching of courses in the above areas in the MA and teachers'
certificate levels, directing MA theses and Ph.D. dissertations and
conducting research in the above areas.

Requirements: Ph.D./Ed.D. degree in applied linguistics, or second
language education or related fields and advanced research background.
Knowledge and experience in language education; background in teacher
training; knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
