 ==========================================================================
The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to use
non-discriminatory standards in hiring policy. In particular we urge
that employers do not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity,
nationality, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we
have no means of enforcing these standards.

Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international
employment page http://linguistlist.org/jobnet.html.

This page has been set up so that people can report on the employment
standards of various countries.

Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh, Scotland

Lecturer in Speech and Language Therapy: (two posts)
GBP 21,435 - 30,967

We are seeking to recruit two enthusiastic people to contribute to the
undergraduate and post-graduate teaching within this Department and to
develop research and other schorlarly activities as part of the
Department's research programme. One post will involve co-ordination
of the clinical activities of the department. Both posts offer
excellent opportunities for personal and professional development
within a supportive environment.

You will be a graduate with an interest in one or more of the
following areas:
Adult acquired disorders of communication and swallowing.
Communication in the elderly.
Disorders of fluency.
Learning disabilities (cognitive impairment).

Ideally you should have a higher degree in a relevant discipline and a
record of publication in peer reviewed journals. A speech and
language therapy qualification is highly desirable for both posts and
essential for the clinical co-ordinator. Previous experience in
teaching at degree level would be an advantage.

The Department has a friendly staff team and excellent research and
clinical resources. QMUC has the advantage of being set in Scotland's
capital city, with its wide range of cultural and social
opportunities.
