SOUTH AFRICAN JOURNAL OF LINGUISTICS, the journal of the Linguistic
Society of Southern Africa (LSSA), has merged with "Southern African
Journal of Applied Language Studies (SAJALS), the journal of the
Southern African Applied Linguistics Association (SAALA).

The combined journal is called "SOUTHERN AFRICAN LINGUISTICS AND
APPLIED LANGUAGE STUDIES" (SALALS) and is published twice a year by
National Inquiry Services (NISC), an international company.

SALALS will continue to showcase current research in African languages
and linguistics and will remain affordable to scientists and libraries
worldwide.

The first edition of the combined journal journal has just
appeared. The details of its contents follow.
