The British Institute in Paris (an institute of the University of
London) comprises a large department teaching English as a Foreign
Language and training EFL teachers. The lecturer will spend three
quarters of his/her time on direct teaching at various levels, and the
rest on teacher training, advanced teaching and research projects.
Lecturer 'A' scales are at present GBP 19,000 to GBP 24,000 p.a.
Advancement to a higher de will depend on research performance. The
appointment will be effective on 15 September 2001.

Applicants must be primary mother tongue speakers of English with a
first degree in humanities, a reputable postgraduate qualification in
TEFL/TESOL, experience in direct teaching, and a proven research
profile, preferably confirmed by a doctorate. Knowledge of French is
not necessary, but useful.
