THE AWARD OF AN ASSOCIATED HUMANITIES RESEARCH BOARD RESOURCE
ENHANCEMENT GRANT WILL ENABLE NEWCASTLE UNIVERSITY TO APPOINT A RESEARCH
ASSOCIATES

The appointee must have proven experience of phonetic and orthographic
data transcription and a detailed knowledge of English dialects.  A
high level of computer literacy is also required.

The Junior Research Associate will also have at least a good first
degree in Linguistics or a closely related discipline, and should have
experience of electronic database creation and manipulation.

The post is available from 1st October 2001 for three years and the
starting salary is BP 16775.
