Scope: This conference is the first in the series "Theoretical and
Experimental Linguistics" and aims at bringing together theoretical work
in contemporary syntactic theory with work on the syntactic properties
displayed by the various types of language disorders. It will center
around four core concepts of Generative Linguistics: (i) Functional
Categories (ii) Word Order and Movement (iii) Dependencies within and
across Sentences and (iv) Interfaces, and will compare the behavior of
normal and impaired language with respect to each of them. It seeks
answers to questions such as: What constitutes a deviation from a normal
system in current syntactic terms? How likely is it to find in normal
language patterns and behavior encountered in language disorders? What
do impaired varieties of language have to contribute to contemporary
syntactic theory?

The conference is open to researchers world-wide, whether from industry
or academia. Participation will be limited to 100. The emphasis will be
on discussion about new developments. The conference fee covers
registration, full board and lodging. Grants will be available, in
particular for nationals under 35 from EU or Associated States.
