We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

Subject: Bibliography program

Dear all,

I'm looking for a bibliography program that supports Unicode. Two
frequently used programs, Endnote and Biblioscape support only a single
set of characters, e.g., Times or Times CE, depending on the version of
windows. While the help file of Endnote 3 proudly says, "Characters from
Eastern European, Asian, or other non-Latin languages are not supported."
- the most recent version of Endnote (5) is silent on this point.
Thus the only way for me to use say Polish and Danish characters is to
code one set or the other, which however creates problems with listing not
to mention the coding and decoding procedure.
Any help would be appreciated.

My book 'The Structure of German' was first published in
1990 and continues to be used in German Linguistics
classes worldwide. I am about to begin a revision of the text
and am eliciting suggestions from users as to the sort of
updating they think would be appropriate and useful, without
fundamentally altering the character of the work. Please
send comments to:
