SEMINAR ON SPOKEN BASQUE :
december 2001, the 12th (wednesday) and 13th (thursday), in the faculty of
Bayonne.

We are happy to announce that IKER, research unity of the CNRS (UMR 5478) in
Bayonne and AHOLAB, laboratory of the Engineering School in Bilbao
(University of the Basque Country) will organize in Bayonne a seminar on
"Research on Basque pronounciation : state of the art and future ways". It
will be held on december 2001, the 12th (wednesday) and 14th (thursday). The
language of the seminar will be Euskara (Basque language). The seminar is
open to anybody interested. If you want to attend, please send a message to

The goal of the seminar is to underline the importance that voice
technologies will take in tomorrow's world. The objective is to make such
ideas more popular in the transboarder linguistics students community and to
push more people towards this kind of research.

Therefore, this seminar will be built on presentations of the resaerch that
is made at the moment in the Basque Country in phonetics, phonology and
voice technology.
