ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, Department of Linguistics, University of
Washington. A tenure-track appointment is intended in the area of
computational linguistics with primary research specialization in
natural language processing theory. Duties will include: Building a
new computational linguistics specialization within the Linguistics
Department; Teaching undergraduate and research courses in topics such
as machine translation, summarization, parsing, information retrieval
and lexical semantics; Teaching non-computational courses including
introduction to linguistics and advanced courses in syntax or
semantics; Supervision of graduate students; Forging ties with local
industry involved in natural language processing.
Applicants should have the Ph.D. degree by the time the position
begins. Applications, including a curriculum vitae, statement of
research and teaching interests, and three letters of recommendation,
