I would like to ask list members if they know of any language where
the concept of "voice" is not lexicalized. For example, is there any
language where you could not say "I recognized him by his voice" or
"she has a pretty voice"?

Thanks

Ann Kumar

A local firm has received a parcel with the following phrase
indistinctly pencilled on it in roman characters; they would like to
know what it means and what language it is in:

qarihu [or garihu] ugu weynaa ce kadhacamar upkauka ayag [?] kaqarxay
dhowr me... ol
