Here's the article on the language gene research that the BBC story
mentioned in a post yesterday (Linguist 13.2096) referred to:

Enard, W. e t al. Molecular evolution of FOXP2, a gene involved in
speech and language, Nature advance online publication, 14 August
2002, (doi:10.1038/nature01025) Letters to Nature.

There are two other articles, Lai, et al., Nature 413, 519-523, 4
October 2001, and Vargha-Khadem, et al. Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci, USA 92,
930-933, 1995 that are also informative.
