Full professorship in Iranian languages and culture

Eligibility:
To be eligible for this professorship applicants are required to
possess scholarly qualifications in Iranian languages. The prospective
holder of the chair should be able to document scholarly achievements
of a linguistic or an interpretative philological nature in New
Persian and at least one additional Iranian language.

Ranking:
In making this appointment as full professor, weight shall be given
primarily to scholarly competence and teaching skill, with special
attention paid to scholarly competence. Teaching skills must be
assessed with the same degree of conscientiousness as for research
achievements.  In making this appointment as full professor,
documented scholarly achievements covering both linguistic and
philological aspects and/or a pre-Islamic Iranian language will be
regarded as a special qualification.  In assessing teaching
competence, attention must be paid to experience in planning,
executing, and evaluating teaching and in individual supervision and
examination. Teaching skills in New Persian, the most important
Iranian language in the teaching programme of the Department are
particularly qualifying.
