Usability Specialist: Speech Recognition/Multi-modal Applications

Exciting new position with a leading provider of solutions for the
international communications sector.  This is a stable and successful
organization with c400 staff. This company is committed to providing
high quality solutions that exploit the potential of emerging
technologies within the telecomms arena.


ROLE
Responsible for establishing and managing corporate standards for user
interface design and application usability, including the analysis and
investigation of applications/systems, and graphical, web, multimedia,
voice response, and conversational user interfaces. Position works
with cross-functional product teams to deliver best-in-class user
interfaces for a variety of applications in support of
corporate/marketing goals.

The successful applicant will provide direction to technical staff to
support the implementation of the corporate standards and liaise with
senior managerial staff to ensure awareness of the benefits, costs and
issues in standards implementation.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience: Master's degree in Psychology, Computer Science,
Industrial Engineering or Human factors engineering with expertise in
Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).

Position requires knowledge of linguistics, pattern recognition and
natural language concepts, as well as speech recognition and IVR
systems. Familiarity with WAP, VoiceXML, Web design, HTML, JSP and ASP
desired.

Background should include five years experience and/or training in
human factors, software and telephony applications, including a
minimum of one year of experience with speech user interfaces
(i.e. Voice Portals, Voice IVR) and web/computer interfaces.

Must be proficient in Visio and MS Office software applications.

LOCATION: Georgia, USA

SALARY

To reflect the experience and skills of the successful applicant.
This is a senior role and salary will likely be in the $70-$100K
region.
