1st CALL FOR PAPERS

The II Encuentro de Gramatica Generativa will be organized by the
Instituto en Lenguas Vivas Juan Ramon Fernandez on August 7-9,
2003. Submissions are invited for papers in any field related to the
formal study of grammar (syntax, morphology, phonology, semantics,
lexical theory, interfaces, language acquisition, philosophy of
language). Talks will be organized around major topics, depending on
the content of the submissions.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

The abstracts should be sent by e-mail as a Word or RTF file to the
following address: encuentrogg at yahoo.com.ar. Abstracts should be no
longer than two pages, including references and examples, with margins
of at least 1-inch, letter size 12. At the beginning of your email, in
the plain text part of it, please supply the following information:
- name,
- affiliation,
- title of the paper,
- email address,
- snail mail address.

The format of the conference is 30 min for presentation + 10 min for
discussion. The official languages of the conference are Spanish,
Portuguese and English.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS APRIL 1st, 2003.
Notification of acceptance will be no later than April 30th, 2003.

6. Requirements for abstracts: Papers are invited for 20-minute
presentation in all areas of developing language skills and from any
theoretical perspective. Send one copy of a one-page abstract for
review. The abstract must specify which meeting you wish to present in
(Beijing or Shanghai or both), title of paper, authorâEuro(tm)s
name, academic affiliation, current and summer address, phone and fax
number, e-mail, and audiovisual requests. Abstracts must be on a
single page, single spaced, in font size 12, with one inch
margins. Abstract may be submitted via e-mail or mail. If submitted
via email, it may be included in the body of the e-mail message or as
an attachment.
Please do not send abstracts by fax.

8. All presented papers will be published in the Proceedings of the
6th International Symposium on Applied Linguistics and Language
Teaching one year after the conference and will be sent to their
authors by mail.

9. Fees
   10.1. For the Beijing portion:       US$550.00
   10.2. For the Shanghai portion:     US$500.00
   10.3. For both Beijing & Shanghai, incl. the flight Beijing-Shanghai:
US$1100.00.

These fees include US$100.00 for registration and all other expenses
(food, accommodation, transportation, tickets, publication and a
complimentary copy of the proceedings, etc.) They are for double-room
in a 3-star hotel or above. For single room, add $20 per person per
day.

10.4. For spouse/child
        The Beijing portion alone:       US$300.00
        The Shanghai portion alone:     US$300.00
        Both Beijing & Shanghai, incl. the Beijing-Shanghai flight: US$700.00
