Vacancy number 203006

The vacancy is in the Department of Scandinavian Languages and
Literatures of the Faculty of Arts. The department has three areas of
teaching and research: Danish, Norwegian and Swedish; there are 13
members of staff and about 80 students.

Linguistic specialization is open.

The position:

The department is seeking a senior lecturer who can contribute to the
following areas:

-instruction in Scandinavian linguistics
-instruction in language proficiency with a preference for Swedish
-supervision of student Master theses and doctoral dissertations (Ph.D.)
-participation in the department's management
-research in Centre for Linguistics and Cognition Groningen.

Candidates should fulfill the following requirements:

-first degree in Scandinavian (or Danish, Norwegian or Swedish)
Language(s) & Literature(s)

-doctorate degree in Scandinavian (or Danish, Norwegian or Swedish)
Language(s)
-wide experience in university teaching
-excellent didactic skills
-excellent skills in research and research management
-excellent command of one of the Scandinavian language, by preference
 Swedish
-a co-operative attitude
-competence in Dutch or willingness to learn Dutch within 2 years of
 appointment; good command of English.

The university offers tenure; salary depends upon education and
experience, but will be between minimum 3935 and maximum 5267 (before
taxes) per month on a full-time basis.

The appointment begins as soon as possible.
