Duties:

Foreign Language Specialist/Linguist will transcribe, analyze, and
report on foreign language communications.

Qualifications:

US Citizenship and can be clearable for a high-level
clearance. Fluency in any one the languages below is required:

1. U.S. citizenship is a requirement for all positions; do you meet this
requirement?

2. This is a translation and/or transcription job with follow up on
research and analysis. The job includes working with the written or
spoken language for 6-7 hours per day as well as listening, reading or
translating using computer technology and digital processing.
Requirements also include analyzing full or partial words or text and
collaborating with other analysts and skills. Does this type of work
interest you? Do you envision yourself working in various aspects of
language for your career?

3. Do you have a Bachelor's degree in language? (If "yes") How many
foreign language credits (semester/quarter) do you have? How many area
studies do you have? (If "no") How did you acquire your language
capability? (Make sure full description is provided.)

4. Have you had any language immersion training or in-country
experience? (If "yes") How much, when, where and describe?

5. Have you had any formal language work experience in translation or
transcription? (If "yes") How much, when, where and describe?

6. Have you been through any formal language testing for example, with
the FBI, State Department, DLPT or a similar agency? Describe. What
was your score?

7. Do you have the ability to read and fully comprehend the front and
editorial page of a foreign language newspaper? On a scale of 1-10, 10
being the highest, rate your ability to fully comprehend, summarize
and then translate so that a person who does not speak or understand
the language would be able to comprehend.

8. On a scale of 1-10, again 10 being the highest, rate your ability to
hear a foreign broadcast and transcribe it into fully summarized
understandable English so that a person who does not speak or understand
the language would be able to comprehend.

9. How many additional languages do you know? What are they? What are
your best languages and how would you rate them on a scale of 1-10, 10
being the highest, in reading, listening and comprehension?
