Job Title: Technical Consultant in Speech Recognition

Line Report to:	Head of Consultancy and Training 			

Job Purpose:

The main aim of this role is to fulfil client-based work in the
implementation of speech recognition based solutions. The scope of the
work broadly covers dialog design and HCI aspects, to design,
implementation and configuration of solutions that encompass best of
breed products.


Main Accountabilities:
* Deployment and configuration of speech recognition based solutions in
corporate, call centre and telecommunication environments.
* Represent the company as a customer facing engineer carrying out work
on customer premises either locally in the UK or abroad
* Project management of solution based work with awareness of costing,
delivery  testing and deployment and a working knowledge of standard
project management lifecycles
* Team leading small to medium size projects
* Selling consultancy work where appropriate
* Become an expert in a relevant field such as dialog design, CRM or
application configuration
* Internal consulting and sales support closely working with pre-sales
on customer proposals
* Maintaining an awareness of the industry
* Preparing and delivering training courses to clients and internally


Experience:
* At least 3 years experience in a Telecoms Engineering role
* At least 3 years experience in a Software Engineering role
* A minimum of 6-12 months consultancy experience
* Experience in user interface design and ergonomics
* Broad knowledge base, to include:
* Product Lifecycle
* Commercial knowledge and awareness
* Industry knowledge and understanding
* Customer exposure - all levels


Skills
* Good verbal and written presentation abilities
* Strong technical knowledge and understanding - to include:
* C/C++ coding (experience and strong working knowledge)
* NT/UNIX (experience and strong working knowledge)
* Confident and assertive manner combined with a diplomatic approach
* Full understanding and working knowledge of Software Development
Lifecycles
* Good verbal and written communication abilities
* Sound commercial abilities (costing, understanding of how functions
interrelate to develop and market products and solutions)
