European Society for Philosophy and Psychology

Call for Papers 2002 Annual Meeting.
Lyon, France, July, 10th to 13th, 2002.

The aim of the Society is "to promote interaction between
philosophers, linguists, and psychologists on issues of common
concern". Psychologists, neuroscientists, linguists, computer
scientists and biologists are encouraged to report experimental,
theoretical and clinical work that they judge to have philosophical
significance. In recent years ESPP sessions have covered such topics
as spatial concepts, simulation theory, attention, problems of
consciousness, emotion, perception, early numerical cognition, memory
and time, motor imagery, counterfactuals, reasoning, vagueness,
cognitive semantics, semantic-pragmatic-distinction, deixis, mental
causation, action, thought without language, externalism,
connectionism, and the interpretation of neuropsychological results.

The complete list of invited speakers and themes for invited symposia
will be available shortly. At the moment, confirmed invited speakers
include:
Peter Gerdenfors (Lund University)
Manuel Garcia Carpintero (University of Barcelona)
Tim Dalgleish (Cambridge University)
Matthew Crocker (Saarland University)

Confirmed symposia include:
Game Theory in Linguistics and Cognitive Science (convenor: Robert van
Rooy, Amsterdam).
Pragmatics (convenor: Richard Breheny, Cambridge)
Hypnosis (convenor: Zsoltan Dienes, Sussex)
Self recognition (convenor: Marc Jeannerod, Lyon)

The Society invites submitted papers and posters for this meeting.
Submitted papers are refereed and selected on the basis of quality and
relevance to psychologists, linguists and philosophers. Papers should
not exceed a length of 20 minutes (about 8 double-spaced pages) for
sessions which will last a total of 30 minutes. Papers must be
accompanied by a camera-ready 300-word abstract (to be included in the
conference booklet) From this year there will also be thematic
sessions: authors are invited to submit together 3 or 4 papers under a
common theme to be refereed jointly and assessed for acceptance as a
themed symposium. There will also be poster presentations. A
submission for a poster presentation should consist of a 500-word
abstract.

Submitted papers may also be considered for presentation as posters.
The deadline for submission is April 30th, 2002. Please use the online
submission form to be found at:
http://espp.sbg.ac.at/index.php?espp2002 Otherwise, electronic
