We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

I´d like to know if anyone knows about any bibliography pertaining to
experimental methods that defines the description of prosody in
sentences(not discourse analysis)thru the repetition of these
sentences by imitation and the verbal readings of said sentences.

Sincerely,

A nurse colleague of mine is currently PI of an NIH research project
on improving children's development through increased understanding by
family caregivers of the mealtime situation and its requirements. She
and her NIH project administrator agree that it might be useful to
examine how and whether mealtimes could also be used to increase
children's linguistic and social skills, thereby improving their
readiness for school. Her immediate question for y'all is whether
there are currently any projects under way investigating developmental
linguistic aspects of mealtimes. Knowing what is currently ongoing in
this area may help her determine what to consider adding to her
project.

Many thanks for your consideration of this request.

George Allen
