HIS'02 is the second International conference that brings together
researchers, developers, practitioners, and users of soft computing,
computational intelligence, agents, logic programming, and several
other intelligent computing techniques. The aim of HIS'02 is to serve
as a forum to present current and future work as well as to exchange
research ideas in this field.

HIS'02 invites authors to submit their original and unpublished work
that demonstrate current research using soft computing/ computational
intelligence and other intelligent computing techniques and their
applications in science, technology, business and commercial. Please
submit a full paper of 8 to 10 pages (Letter or A4 paper) for oral
presentation. The proceedings of the Conference will be published by
Springer Verlag, Germany. A selected number of papers will also be
considered for a special issue of the Elsevier Science Journal
"Applied Soft Computing".Please follow the author's guidelines given
by Springer-Verlag, Germany for more information on
submission. Author's guidelines can be downloaded from the conference
web page.

Descripton:

We are happy to announce that this year's Linguistics and Phonetics
conference (LP2002) will be hosted by Meikai University in Urayasu,
Japan (Urayasu is located in Chiba Prefecture, about 20 minutes from
Tokyo Station by train). LP2002 will be organized around the following
three general topics: (1) Typology and Linguistic Theory, (2) the
Lexicon, and (3) Prosody and Phonetics. The conference will consist of
a main session, with 45, 30, and 20 minute talks, and a poster
session.

Submission:

We invite anonymous abstracts for posters and talks (where you may
indicate a preference for 45, 30, and 20 minutes) on aspects of
linguistics or phonetics that is related to the topic categories
indicated above.

Abstracts should be written in English and describe original,
unpublished work at most one A4 page, with one-inch margins, typed in
at least 11-point font; a second A4 page, with the same margins and
type-size, is permitted for data and references.  Submissions are
restricted to 1 individual and 1 joint abstract per author.

ABSTRACTS MUST BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY VIA E-MAIL,
using the LP2002 E-mail address <midori34 at meikai.ac.jp>.

Please use the subject header "abstract", and include the abstract in
the body of your message in plain text format (MS-Word file
attachments acceptable) followed by the following information: name of
author(s), affiliation of author(s), title of abstract, topic category
(choose from 1-3 above), poster or main session, preferred length of
talk if submitting an abstract for the main session (45, 30, or 20
minutes), mailing & E-mail addresses.
