Tenure-Track Job Opening for Assistant Professor (Koushi) in the
Center for Language Research, University of Aizu, Japan

Starting date:  October 1, 2002

Qualifications:

1) Ph.D. in TESL/TEFL, Applied Linguistics, or Technical Communication
2) native or near-native English speaking ability
3) at least three years of university teaching experience
4) ability to teach English courses in academic/technical discourse
   appropriate for students majoring in computer science/engineering
5) experience with computer-assisted language instruction

Duties:

1) teaching 4-5 classes per semester (1 class is 90 minutes per week)
2) developing course materials
3) participating in group projects
4) serving on committees
5) conducting research
6) carrying out other university-related responsibilities

Salary:  Based on the Fukushima Prefecture Salary Scale for
Prefectural Employees / Public Officials.
