Applications are invited to fill a linguistics position at the
Department of Chinese, Translation and Linguistics of the City
University of Hong Kong, starting September 1, 2002 or January 2,
2003.  The candidate should have PhD by the data of appointment,
specializing in one or more the following areas: (a) phonology, (b)
syntax, (c) semantics.  The appointee will teach a range of
linguistics courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, in
addition to supervising graduate students.  The appointment can be
made at the level of assistant/associate professorship or
professorship depending on the candidate's experience.  Please send a
letter of application, a CV (including names and contact information
of three referees), a statement of research goals, and copies of major
publications.  The deadline for application is May 31, 2002.  For
