Call for Papers

Jezikoslovlje, a recently relaunched biannual journal with
international board of consulting editors, invites papers for
publication in forthcoming issues.

SCOPE AND CONTENT

Jezikoslovlje is published by the Faculty of Education of Josip Juraj
Strossmayer University, Osijek. Its aim is to promote the constructive
interaction between theoretical and descriptive findings by providing
a broadly conceived forum for research in the traditional disciplines
of linguistics, ranging from phonology and morphology to syntax,
semantics and pragmatics, as well as for research from neighbouring
disciplines. Supported by an internationally renowned board of
consulting editors, the journal will hold up for discussion
theoretical and descriptive issues relevant to the linguistic
community at large and thus aim at reflecting current trends in
linguistic research in the above disciplines within a broad range of
theoretical frameworks.

Jezikoslovlje is published in one volume of two issues per year
(approximatively 300 pages). The second issue in each volume brings a
guest-edited focus-on section.

This openness to all schools and currents of linguistic thought is
reflected in the wide variety of contributions accepted. Jezikoslovlje
is structured to include original full-length articles,
state-of-the-art articles, short notes, review articles and book
notices, as well as conference reports. Full-length articles are
normally between 3,000 and 10,000 words, short notes of about 2,000
words. These contributions should suggest a solution to the problems
they address or make clear their relevance to theoretical issues.
Book notices and conference reports are between 500 and 1,000 words in
length, while review articles, which may cover more than one book, can
have around 2,500 words. Languages of publication are English, German
and Croatian.

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

Manuscripts should be sent to the Editors, preferably by electronic
mail (jezikoslovlje at knjiga.pedos.hr).

All correspondence and inquiries concerning manuscripts as well as
books for review should be sent to the above address. Books sent for
review cannot be returned.

The following information should appear on the first page: the full
title of the contribution, the author's name, affiliation, and full
address, followed by up to 10 keywords. An abstract of between 100 and
200 words should be provided for full-length articles and short notes.

Before accepting any article or review for publication, the editors
will await the positive recommendation of two readers drawn from among
the members of the Consulting Editorial Board and other experts in the
field. Manuscripts will be reviewed blind, and they should therefore
be prepared in such a way that after detachment of the title page no
clues as to the identity of the author remain. A three month
turnaround time between submission and a publication decision will be
maintained. The authors may be asked to modify their contribution in
accordance with the reviewers' suggestions.

The contributors are at liberty to publish their articles elsewhere at
a later date.
