Meeting Description:

The Penn Linguistics Colloquium is an annual conference organized by
graduate students in the Department of Linguistics at the University
of Pennsylvania. Our invited speaker this year is Professor Manfred
Krifka of Humboldt University in Berlin.
				
The 27th Penn Linguistics Colloquium:
Second Call for Papers

The 27th Annual Penn Linguistics Colloquium is scheduled for Friday
through Sunday, February 21 through 23, 2003 at the University of
Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia.

Invited Speaker: Professor Edward Keenan of UCLA
will speak about existential there-constructions (Title of the talk TBA).

Papers on any topic in linguistics and associated fields are
welcome. Speakers will have twenty minutes for their presentations and
five minutes for discussion and questions.

Prospective speakers are invited to submit their abstracts
electronically by filling out the online form. The form will accept
papers in the DOC, RTF, HTML, PS, DVI, PDF, and TXT
formats. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee correct font outputs for
RTF or DOC. Abstracts should be no longer than 2 pages in 12-point
font with 1-inch margins. Please do not include your name or
affiliation in the abstracts themselves.  The online form is now
available at http://www.ling.upenn.edu/Events/PLC/registration/.
Please note that starting Thursday, November 7 only the webform
submissions are going to be accepted.

The deadline for abstract submission is Sunday, December 8,
2002. Notification of acceptance/rejection should be expected by
Tuesday, January 21, 2003.

Conference proceedings will be published as a volume of the Penn
Working Papers in Linguistics. Selected participants will be expected
to provide camera-ready copies of their papers after the
Colloquium. Please refer to the Working Papers website for further
information.
