English.  TESOL/ESL, tenure-track assistant professor.  The Department
of English at Western Carolina University seeks an energetic,
innovative person to direct and teach courses in a new graduate
program in TESOL/ESL.  Ph.D. in applied linguistics or closely related
field, teacher certification in TESOL/ESL, ability/potential to teach
graduate and undergraduate courses, and ability to support the English
Education program preferred.  Western, a UNC campus set in the
mountains of Western North Carolina, has a tradition of teaching
excellence; the successful candidate will be collegial and
professional, with a strong commitment to teaching.  Please send a
letter of application (including a statement of teaching philosophy),
vita, and at least three letters of recommendation to Dr. Brian
Railsback, Head, Department of English, Western Carolina University,
