In view of the development of the bachelor and master's programme
'Communication and Digital Media', the Faculty of Arts at Tilburg
University (The Netherlands) announces a full-time position for

A TENURE TRACK POSITION AT THE ASSISTANT PROFESSOR LEVEL
(vac. no. 810.02.15)

Candidates are expected to

* Teach courses in the programme 'Communication and Digital Media'
(for a survey, see
http://www.tilburguniversity.nl/faculties/flw/pcdm/)
* participate in the research programme of the new section Language
and Digital Media. This programme is focused on cognitive, pragmatic
and semantic aspects of discourse, communication and digital
media. Example research questions concern the effects of different
types of modality conditions on using, producing and processing
digital and multimodal information.
* Develop and supervise bachelor's and master's thesis
research related to this research programme.
* Use computer-based and collaborative facilities for teaching and
instruction.
* Execute managerial and administrative tasks

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

* A Ph D in one of the following disciplines: (cognitive) linguistics,
discourse studies, language and information science, communication
studies, cognitive science, cognitive, social or educational
psychology.
* Experienced in experimental research in the field of (multimodal)
discourse, communication and digital media.
* Strong affinity and familiarity with recent developments in the
field of digital media
* Broad deployability in instructional and organizational tasks;
* Demonstrable didactic qualities.

Salary

Pay classification is according to level of experience and expertise,
with a maximum of 4420 euro per month (salary scale 12).
