Description:

POSITION FOR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Gunma Prefectural Women's University, Japan, is offering a full-time
position to a native English-speaking teacher, beginning April 1,
2003.  This position is on a three-year contract basis and may become
tenured (to be obliged to retire at 65).  The applicant's
qualifications, responsibilities at the university, documents needed
for screening and work conditions are as follows:

A. QUALIFICATIONS

(1) Age: 30-45 years of age.
(2) Degree: MA or equivalent in TEFL/TESOL/Applied Linguistics, or
related fields.
(3) Experience: minimum one-year university-level teaching experience.

B. RESPONSIBILITIES

(1) Teaching: 6-8 90-minute classes per week??Speaking, Listening,
Writing, Reading, Cross-cultural Communication, Teaching Method of
English, etc.)
(2) Other duties to be informed at the interview.

C. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

(1) Curriculum vitae.
(2) Certificate of health examination from a public health service.
(3) Transcripts.
(4) List of publications.
(5) Three representative reprints of publications.


D. CONDITIONS
(1) Four-year women's public university.
(2) 1 hour from Tokyo by bullet train.
(3) Salary to be scaled by the Gunma prefectural office.
