Description:

Meiji Gakuin University, Tokyo, is seeking a full-time tenured teacher
of English at the Lecturer, Associate Professor, or Professor
level. The appointment will start on April 1, 2003.

Duties:

(1) Teaching English courses, and preferably Japanese culture, at
Yokohama and Shirokane campuses.
(2) Serving on various administrative committees.
(3) Conducting research in an academic field.
(4) Participating in various on-campus activities including extra-
curricular activities.

Salary and benefits:

Salary and benefits are provided according to Meiji Gakuin University
regulations, depending on qualifications, age and years of teaching
experience.

Qualifications:

The applicant's first language should be English, with a Ph.D. degree
in the area of literature, philosophy, history, anthropology, or
comparative cultural studies. Sufficient ability in Japanese to carry
out all job-related duties is also required.  The applicant must be a
Christian or someone with a good understanding of Christianity.

resume (including your e-mail address) (2) a list of publications (3)
three sample publications and their abstracts (photocopies are
acceptable)
