Suite au succès de la première édition de ce colloque en 2001, cette
deuxième édition a comme objectif d'explorer la richesse de l'apport des
nouvelles technologies au développement des études francophones dans les
domaines de la recherche et de l'enseignement de la langue, de la
linguistique et de la littérature.  Toute communication portant sur
l'application ou l'impact des nouvelles technologies sur un de ces domaines
en études françaises est la bienvenue. Prévoir 20 minutes de présentation
et 10 minutes de discussion.

Following the very positive response to the first conference in 2001, the
aim of this second conference is to pursue the dialogue on the impact of
the Internet and Multimedia in the domains of  research and teaching of
French language, linguistics and literature. We welcome all proposals
relating to the impact of new technologies on one of these domains of
French studies. Allow 20 minutes for presentations and 10 minutes for
discussion.

SEANCE STHEMATIQUES SUR LES BIBLIOTHEQUES VIRTUELLES
SPECIAL SESSION ON VIRTUAL LIBRARIES

  En plus des séances régulières, une séance thématique portera sur le
contenu et l'intérêt qu'auront les sites virtuels développés par les
bibliothèques sur les études françaises au Canada, particulièrement les
projets comme la bibliothèque numérique du Canada.    Cette session est
également ouverte aux soumissions de communication.

In addition to regular sessions, a thematic session will address the impact
of the development of online sites by national libraries in Canada and
France for the field of French studies. Paper proposals are also welcome
for this session.


ATELIER D'INFORMATION SUR LES NOUVELLES TECHNOLOGIES
INFORMATION SESSION ON NEW TECHNOLOGIES

En plus des activités académiques de la conférence, un atelier
d'information sur les toutes dernières technologies et leurs impacts sur
l'avenir de l'enseignement et la recherche sera présenté par le Learning
and Instructional Development Centre de SFU.

In addition to academic activities, an information session on the latest
technologies and their impact in teaching and research will be presented by
SFU's Learning and Instructional Development Centre.

Nous vous invitons à soumettre des propositions de communications portant
sur l'un des thèmes du colloque. Votre soumission devrait inclure un titre
et une bibliographie, ainsi qu'un résumé qui ne dépasse pas 400 mots. Dans
une section séparée, précisez de nouveau le titre de la
communication,  votre nom et votre affiliation (statut étudiant pour
possibilité de subvention),  numéros de téléphone/télécopieur, adresses
postales et électroniques.  Si vous envoyez votre résumé par courriel,
veuillez le joindre au message en version WordPerfect, MSWord, ou Rich Text
Format.  La sélection des communications sera annoncée à la mi-novembre.

Abstracts should be no more than 400 words in length. In a separate
section, please list your paper title, name, affiliation (student status
for possible travel grant), your mailing and electronic addresses, phone
and fax numbers. Abstracts submitted via email should be sent as separate
attachments (WordPerfect, MSWord, or Rich Text Format).  Result of the
selection process will be announced mid-November.

CALL FOR PAPERS
We invite anonymous abstracts for twenty-minute talks followed by
10-minute discussion. Abstracts should be related to the conference
theme: "Dynamics of coarticulation in speech production and perception."
Abstracts must not exceed one page in length (11 point font, 1 inch
margins in all directions). A second page is allowed for data and
references. Authors may submit at most one individual and one joint
abstract. Joint abstracts should designate one address for
communication with TLS.
Only e-mail submission of abstracts will be accepted. They must be
submitted as attachments to an e-mail message. They may not be
contained within the body of a message. The body of the message should
include all information listed in 1-5 below.

submitted in either Word document or PDF format. No other formats will

Deadline for submission of abstracts: November 30, 2002
Abstracts will be reviewed anonymously, and notification of acceptance
will be sent by January 15, 2003.  Registration and conference information
