Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cognitive Linguistics

The Fellow will join the Language and Cognition Research Group in the
Faculty of Arts, which takes in research in linguistics, psychology,
archaeology, and philosophy.

Applicants must present a specific, clearly-defined research plan for
a three-year project in either of the following areas:

(a) semantics and syntax of mental state predicates in a language
other than English, or

(b) cognitive aspects of bilingualism and/or second language
acquisition.

Applicants will have a relevant PhD in linguistics, applied
linguistics, or psycholinguistics, relevant research experience, and
be able to demonstrate outstanding research potential. Demonstrated
interdisciplinary research expertise would be an advantage. In order
to carry out the proposed project, it is expected that applicants will
have expertise in one or more languages other than English. Guidelines
for applications are available on request.

It is a 3 year fixed-term position.

Salary is $46,429-$49,857 (+ 17% employer-funded superannuation and
salary packaging), i.e. Level A (Base+5 to Base+7). The Fellowship is
supported by a $5,000 research fund.

Preliminary guidelines for applicants:

   ii. A CV with relevant information about your research experience,
       publications, etc.
   iii.A brief outline (not more than 1,000 words) of the kind of
       project you propose to undertake, including some description of its
       goals, its significance, and your methodology.
   iv. Names and contact details of three referees.

This information will be used to select a preliminary short-list. If
you are included in the short-list, you will be asked to provide a
more developed research proposal, and referee reports, by
mid-November. An interview will then be arranged, probably in the
first half of December.
